Erten production approach

Plan production around your brand, from fabric and fit to sampling and packaging.

Style and colour options

Choose your collection direction.

Surface softness and layering are as important as colour in a flannel collection. Checks emphasise a seasonal character, while solid shades support quieter everyday styles. For autumn and winter ranges, consider warmth, fabric weight and ease together.

Red and navy checks

Bold checks create a strong winter look. Straight or diagonal pocket placement offers different styling options.

A quieter seasonal palette can suit everyday wear. Plan check scale and button contrast alongside the wider collection.

Without a pattern, the soft texture takes centre stage. Pockets and topstitching define the appearance of the simple style.

Fabric and collection direction

Brushing, fibre content and weight are assessed on the selected fabric. Surface appearance and dimensional changes after washing inform the care instructions.

Style-specific manufacturing details

Check matching, pocket position and collar support are part of the cutting plan. With heavier fabrics, samples are assessed for bulk at seam junctions and cuff closures.

From sample to order

Start with a reference garment, size chart or design file. We review styles, colours and size quantities alongside labels, packaging and the destination country. Sample approval, material availability and a written quotation establish the production scope.

Product development guide

The right sample. Clear decisions.

Fit and wearing comfort

For shirts worn over a T-shirt, assess armhole and upper-arm width with layering allowance. The same measurements can feel tighter in a heavier fabric. Try the sample both open and fastened.

What to check on the sample

Inspect the raised surface, check matching and bulk at seam intersections. Mark the areas where matching is required; a pocket cut on the diagonal should be a deliberate design decision.

Care, finishing and packing

Assess dimensional change, surface appearance and pilling expectations with the selected fabric. Plan packing friction and pressing pressure around the desired brushed finish.

Planning from sample to production

  1. Pattern development and first sample

A shirt fit / buying sample takes approximately 3-7 working days, depending on product complexity, materials and complete technical inputs.

  2. Sales sample

A shirt sales sample takes approximately 2-4 weeks; revisions and material sourcing may affect timing.

  3. Production and preparation for dispatch

Shirt production to dispatch readiness takes approximately 3-6 weeks, planned once order scope, approvals and material preparation are complete.

frequently asked
questions.

Can checks be matched on flannel shirts?

Matching requirements at the front closure, pockets and other specified junctions can be defined in advance. Pattern repeat and matching scope affect fabric consumption and production planning.

Is every checked shirt a flannel shirt?

No. Checks describe a pattern, while flannel describes the fabric's surface and handle. Checks can appear on many woven or printed fabrics. A physical fabric sample is more useful than a pattern photograph alone for a flannel project.

How is the minimum order determined?

Flexible MOQ. Order quantities are assessed by style, fabric, colour and size distribution. Share your approximate quantity so we can review options that suit the materials and production plan.

How are branding and international delivery planned?

Brand and care labels, packaging, destination country and delivery requirements are defined for each order. Transport, delivery terms, costs and timing are confirmed in the written quotation.
