Erten production approach

Plan production around your brand, from fabric and fit to sampling and packaging.

Style and colour options

Choose your collection direction.

In a formal shirt collection, collar, cuffs and fabric surface should support the same visual direction. Solid colours provide a strong foundation for tailoring brands, corporate programmes and occasionwear. Define the fit and care expectations for daily office use separately from ceremonial wear.

Fabric and collection direction

Poplin, fine twill and suitable cotton weaves are assessed for smoothness, opacity and care requirements. Light-coloured fabrics are checked using the selected material.

Style-specific manufacturing details

Collar spread, interlining, cuff length and placket width are coordinated. Sample reviews consider tie use, sleeve length under a jacket and freedom of movement.

From sample to order

Start with a reference garment, size chart or design file. We review styles, colours and size quantities alongside labels, packaging and the destination country. Sample approval, material availability and a written quotation establish the production scope.

Product development guide

The right sample. Clear decisions.

Fit and wearing comfort

A closer fit should not cause the front to gape at the chest or waist. Try the shirt with a jacket and check collar fit, sleeve length and seated comfort. Approve the measurement chart against this intended use.

What to check on the sample

A flat placket, symmetrical collar points and evenly positioned cuffs are key appearance checks. Assess shine, seam puckering and visible interlining marks with the selected fabric and pressing conditions.

Care, finishing and packing

Specify the care expectations for regular wear when requesting a quote. Easy-care or crease-performance requirements need suitable materials and an agreed testing scope; a neatly photographed shirt does not demonstrate these properties.

Preparing for samples and a quote

A starting point for your project.

Share your preferences for this style, approximate quantity, colour and size breakdown, target date and delivery country.
  • Whether the shirt will be worn with a tie or open at the neck
  • Slim or regular fit reference
  • Care expectations and any corporate colour standard

If your tech pack is not ready, we can start with a well-fitting reference garment, measurements and visual references. Agree fabric, fit and trim approvals before production.

Planning from sample to production

  1. Pattern development and first sample

A shirt fit / buying sample takes approximately 3-7 working days, depending on product complexity, materials and complete technical inputs.

  2. Sales sample

A shirt sales sample takes approximately 2-4 weeks; revisions and material sourcing may affect timing.

  3. Production and preparation for dispatch

Shirt production to dispatch readiness takes approximately 3-6 weeks, planned once order scope, approvals and material preparation are complete.

frequently asked
questions.

How does a formal shirt differ from a dinner shirt?

Formal shirts can cover a broader range of business and occasionwear. Dinner shirts require additional decisions about bow ties, bib fronts and cufflinks.

Should a formal shirt have a chest pocket?

The choice depends on use and brand styling. A pocketless front can suit understated occasionwear, while a single pocket may suit everyday corporate styles. On pale fabrics, also check how the extra pocket layer shows through.

How is the minimum order determined?

Flexible MOQ. Order quantities are assessed by style, fabric, colour and size distribution. Share your approximate quantity so we can review options that suit the materials and production plan.

How are branding and international delivery planned?

Brand and care labels, packaging, destination country and delivery requirements are defined for each order. Transport, delivery terms, costs and timing are confirmed in the written quotation.
